Need to take the required NIMS ICS classes, but don’t know how you will find the time? Take the class online and feel lost? Want to learn ICS from first responders who use
it every day? This is your class! Instructors will focus on the nuts and bolts of ICS and prepare attendees to take the ICS Online Exams. Major emphasis will be placed on ICS 100 and ICS 200, The concepts in these classes will be used
almost exclusively in actual emergencies. This is an accelerated course. You will be mentally drained at the end of the session! However, you will be prepared to take the online exams.

INSTRUCTORS
Chris Magenheimer and Chris Smith have taught hundreds of people the
basics of incident command. Their goal is not to simply prepare
people to take the test. As responders, their goal is to prepare
people to be able to work with them in the incident command system.

that they can walk into any command post, emergency operations
center, or mobile command vehicle and be able to be a contributing
member of the team."
Chris Magenheimer, Battalion Chief, North Lake Tahoe Fire
Protection District
Chris Magenheimer has been a member of the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection
District since 1983 and currently serves as a Battalion Chief. He has been
involved with all aspects of fire service and serves on the Sierra Front
Type 3 Incident Management Team. Chris completed his Masters at the
University of Nevada Las Vegas in Crisis and Emergency Management and is a
Certified Emergency Manager. He is currently assigned as the Liaison Officer
at the Washoe County Sheriffs Office as the Project Manager for the Tahoe
Regional Interoperability Partnership, a bi-state communication project.
Chris Smith KC7PZS, Emergency Management Director, Washoe County School
District
Chris Smith is the Emergency Management Director for the Washoe County
School District in Reno, Nevada. The school district has 110 sites,
approximately 8,000 staff persons that strive to provide a world
class education for 63,000 students. Chris has been with the school
district for the past 15 years, having served as a teacher,
assistant principal, and principal prior to becoming the emergency
manager of the school district. While he was assigned to a school
as an administrator, Chris attended the local reserve police academy
(at night) and became a reserve deputy sheriff, serving for four
years prior to working as the emergency manager.
